Exclusive horse auction ‘Swaeneven Select Sale’ great success On Saturday the 11 th of October 2008 the exclusive horse auction ‘Swaeneven Select Sale’ took place in the Event Center ’t Swaeneven in Wapse. Apparently the current insecurity in the financial world has caused people to realize that an investment in horses has better prospects than shares. ( look at http://www.swaenevenselectsale.com/ for the results) Over 800 visitors and 722 online visitors have been able to enjoy every aspect of a magnificent auction. The approved breeding stallion Jense 432 was sold for €300.000,- euro’s, Botte 414 for €95.000,-. Last named is Z1 dressage and is expected to end his offspring inspection at the end of this year. In the event that he becomes approved for life there will be a subsequent payment of €100.000,- euro’s. Both approved breeding stallions who where formally owned by the family van Doorn where sold to Russia. All the breeding mares from the stable ‘de Kromme Jelte’ and the sports horses from Rein Brandsma were auctioned by the auctioneer Hans Sinnige, who also had for the first time in his life a virtual hammer in his hand. The most expensive star mare was Elbrich van ‘de Kromme Jelte’ which was sold for €35.000,- euro’s. Realtime auctioning and bidding Extra unique about this auction was the possibility for serious interested parties to bid real time, safely and strictly personal, without having the need for special software. A combination of a live video report and the possibility to bid real time is new and therefore can be called unique in the auctioneering world. Event Center ‘t Swaeneven’ had the scoop of this specially developed software witch distinguishes itself from all the other auction software. Auctioneer Hans Sinnige was at first sceptical because of his previous experiences with ‘live’ internet possibilities during auctions, but this unique system has taken his doubts completely away, afterwards he was pleased and satisfied with his assistant; a virtual auctioneer. From several countries all over the word people were bidding. Ylva van ‘de Kromme Jelte’ got her new owner through this system and will go to Australia Make a wish foundation The first piece to be auctioned, donated by ‘t Swaeneven’ was a painting made by the artist G.J. Adema who is known as the creator of the statue of the cow ‘us mem’, which is situated in Leeuwarden. The painting was sold for €2400,- euro’s. the profit goes to Make A Wish Foundation. The foundation fulfils the dearest wishes of children who suffer from a life threatening disease. In this time of financial crisis, it is also tough for foundations to function. Therefore the organization was very happy that they could help with the profits made by auctioning this painting.
